‘Being Human – Human Being’ is a national youth initiative which aims to break down barriers and prejudices surrounding young trans people.
The project used photography as a medium to explore the issues they face, as well as help share their experience of gender identity and how gender expression translates into everyday life.
We worked with a group of young people who attend ‘Transformers’, a support group for trans people aged 16-25, run by the Allsorts youth project in Brighton.
The project has produced a book which explains correct terminology and explodes common myths, as well as advocating for ‘trans-allies’ - people who combat trans fear and prejudice.
